Xion slugged through the hall, feeling as if she could keep up with her body. She was so tired, and so hungry, through the two days she had gone without food. That damned heartless that kept her running around without rest.
She made her way down to the kitchen, only half-aware of her surroundings, though it looked as if no one was there. Either way, it was almost strange to be home, after so long out on missions.
She sat down at the kitchen table, trying to gather her thoughts and snap herself back into reality. My missions are complete for now, there’s no need to be so high strung…
Hearing a sound down the hall, Zexion perked up just a bit, closing his book and heading down to the kitchen— even if it wasn’t anyone he wanted to see, eating might be a good idea. He’d eaten only a bar of chocolate in the last three days or so.
Peeking into the kitchen, he felt his chest become light when he spotted Xion and cleared his throat, walking in, trying to be casual about it. “You’re back from missions already?”
Looking up at him, she gave a tired smile; that familiar happy feeling she got when she was around her superior came back, and a bit of her weariness left. “Mhm. Those last few were pretty easy.”
Slowly, she rose from her seat and trotted over to where he stood so that she could embrace him. After all that time, the puppet had missed the Schemer. “You’ve been alright..right?”
